Superyacht Mooring and Bespoke Docklines: Factory-Spliced Systems for Large Vessel Applications

English Braids manufactures Superyacht Polyester Docklines and mooring systems at its facility in Malvern, Worcestershire, supplying professional captains, yacht management companies and superyacht riggers with factory-spliced assemblies built to vessel-specific requirements. The superyacht range covers 100% polyester double-braid and Dyneema®-cored dockline constructions across 24mm to 52mm, with factory-applied leather eyes, custom becketting and Dyneema® or polyester chafe sleeves at contact points. All assemblies are manufactured under quality-controlled conditions and are fully traceable. Supply is trade and OEM direct: we work with professional riggers and vessel management companies specifying for individual vessels, not the retail chandlery market.

Superyacht Docklines: Polyester and Dyneema® Mooring Solutions for Large Vessels

English Braids supplies two dedicated superyacht dockline constructions for large vessel mooring, covering the primary specification requirements of displacement, berth conditions and chafe environment. The Superyacht Dockline Polyester is a 100% high-tenacity polyester double-braid construction with a torque-balanced 24-plait cover that resists hockling and kinking under the cyclic loading of tidal berth mooring. The construction provides controlled extension at break which gives the line useful shock absorption characteristics for vessels in exposed berths and anchorages where surge loading is a regular condition. Polyester’s superior UV resistance and wet-strength retention make this construction appropriate for permanent or semi-permanent dockline installation. The Superyacht Dockline Dyneema® uses an SK75 Dyneema® core with a 24-plait polyester jacket, providing the high strength-to-weight ratio and minimal stretch required for precise positioning in tight berths and marinas where line length management is critical. Breaking loads across the Dyneema-cored range reach 64,100kg at 40mm, covering mooring load requirements for the largest vessels in the fleet. Both constructions are supplied with factory-applied chafe protection at high-pressure contact points as standard. For chafe sleeve specification on existing docklines, English Braids’ Chafe Pro is available separately. All superyacht docklines are manufactured at our Malvern facility to order and are fully traceable to batch. Bespoke Factory-Finishing and Professional Superyacht Supply from English Braids

The factory-finishing capability at English Braids’ Malvern facility is a core part of the superyacht supply proposition, not an optional add-on. Docklines are supplied with factory-spliced leather eyes and custom becketting to vessel specification, eliminating the variation and quality inconsistency of field-spliced assemblies. Leather eyes are specified for vessels where conventional synthetic splice terminations are inappropriate for the deck hardware aesthetic or where chafe at fairlead and cleat contact points is a persistent maintenance issue. Dyneema® chafe sleeves are applied at the points of highest contact pressure, including bollard positions, fairlead entry points and cleat contacts, as part of the standard assembly process. For superyacht running rigging applications requiring Dyneema® cores with technical composite covers, the English Braids racing and technical range includes DC78 and DC99 bare braid with DTech, T-Tech and A-Tech composite covers for halyards, sheets and control lines on performance superyacht sailing programmes. For the full English Braids Dyneema® HMPE rope range see the Dyneema® product range. English Braids supplies trade and OEM direct to professional riggers and yacht management companies.
