The performance of a starter cord is determined by its ability to withstand repeated high-speed friction and sudden tension spikes. Standard cords often fail due to “glazing” or fraying caused by the heat generated inside the recoil assembly. To combat this, we utilise high-tenacity polyester and nylon fibres that offer superior thermal stability and a low coefficient of friction.
Our cords are manufactured using a dense, specialised braiding process that creates a smooth, round profile. This ensures the cord runs effortlessly through the pulley system, reducing mechanical wear on both the rope and the engine housing. By leveraging the technical data from our heritage in blind cords since 1968, we apply 16-carrier braiding precision to our small engine lines, delivering a product that maintains its dimensional stability and resists the “ovalling” that causes jammed recoil mechanisms.
