Rope for Wooden Yachts: Construction, Aesthetics and Technical Requirements

Wooden yachts impose specific demands on running and standing rigging that differ from those of modern GRP construction. Traditional deck hardware including wooden blocks, bronze cleats, leathered eyes and bronze thimbles requires rope with a consistent round cross-section and a soft hand feel that does not abrade the hardware surface or jam in the swallow of a wooden block under load.
