English Braids understands that classic yachts often demand modern racing performance in a subtle, heritage-friendly silhouette. For larger vessels and competitive programs, our Racing Dyneema® Pro offers exceptional load-bearing capacity and a minimal elongation profile (extension at break approx. 3.5%), ensuring precise sail control while maintaining a period-correct appearance on the spar.
Our staple Braid on Braid and high-tenacity 3-strand ranges remain the benchmark for reliability, offering the “roundness” and cover protection required for traditional deck hardware and wooden blocks. These lines are engineered to manage the unique mechanical stresses of heritage vessels, providing a “fit-and-forget” solution for both standing and running rigging.
Tactile Performance and Technical Stability
For handling-intensive applications where manual hoisting and soft hand-feel are primary requirements, our 8-plait and 24-plait Matt products utilize spun polyesters to achieve a high-grip, supple texture. These lines are heat-set and pre-stretched in our Malvern facility to ensure dimensional stability and relieve internal manufacturing stresses, resulting in stable, kink-resistant rigging.
By utilizing some of the highest polyester counts in the market, our traditional-motive ropes offer industry-leading durability and resistance to salt-water stiffening. This ensures that your rigging remains easy to handle and easy to splice into traditional leathered eyes or bronze thimbles, maintaining the integrity of the vessel’s original design over an extended service life.
