Comprehensive Cruising Solutions for the Global Marine Trade

English Braids provides a versatile inventory of cruising cordage designed for longevity and performance in all maritime conditions. Manufactured in Malvern England, our range is engineered to integrate seamlessly with modern marine hardware, offering trade partners a reliable “fit-and-forget” solution for their customers.

By combining high-tenacity polyester with advanced HMPE and Dyneema® technologies, we deliver a product hierarchy that addresses everything from general-purpose sheets to precision halyards. Our commitment to technical accuracy and material integrity ensures that every line provides the strength and safety required for modern leisure sailing.

Precision Engineering for the Cruising Rig

For professional riggers, selecting the right polyester construction is essential for hardware compatibility. Our flagship Braid-on-Braid utilizes a 24-plait cover for a smooth, high-grip finish, while Euro Braid offers a 16-plait polyester construction for those preferring a more traditional feel and easier splicing on the bench. Both ranges feature a melting point of 260°C, ensuring they withstand the friction of high-load winches without glazing.

When a project demands reduced stretch, our Dyneema® products provide a high-performance upgrade path. Utilizing hybrid construction methods and advanced blended materials—such as our Cruising Dyneema® with its polypro/Dyneema® blended core—these lines offer an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio. For more critical applications, stepping up to a 12-strand Dyneema® SK78 core provides a unique elongation profile that prevents “creep” in primary halyards while maintaining the protection of our world-leading polyester covers.
