Industrial Resilience and Material Selection
Selecting the right architecture for mooring and towing is a balance between breaking strain and elasticity. For high-energy towing applications, our Polysteel and High-Tenacity Polyester lines provide the essential elongation required to absorb peak shock loads.
Where diameter reduction and maximum break-load are paramount, we utilise HMPE lines, specifically our Dyneema® SK78 constructions. These provide a 7:1 strength-to-weight advantage over steel, offering a neutrally buoyant solution (Specific Gravity ≈ 0.97) that simplifies handling for the crew while providing exceptional primary load security.
System Durability and Operational Longevity
In heavy-marine environments, reliability is defined by the FACTs: Fatigue, Abrasion, Creep, and Temperature. Our UHMPE and high-tenacity polyester lines are engineered for superior Tension-Tension Fatigue (TCLL 90), providing up to 3x the service life of traditional steel cables by maintaining core integrity through millions of load cycles.
To manage the extreme external wear encountered at fairleads and winch drums, we offer bespoke chafe covers and Dyneema® sleeves. These protective layers shield the load-bearing core from both mechanical abrasion and the thermal degradation caused by friction. Every assembly is manufactured to rigorous UK quality standards, ensuring full traceability and a lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for professional fleet operators through reduced replacement frequency and enhanced deck safety.
