Tutus Dynamic: EN892 Certified Nylon Dynamic Rope for Safety Services and Mountain Rescue
Tutus Dynamic is an EN892 certified nylon dynamic rope manufactured by English Braids in Malvern, Worcestershire. Unlike the static kernmantle ropes in the Tutus range (Tutus Static, Tutus Firex, Tutus Hi Viz and Tutus Acid Alert), which are certified to EN1891 and designed for low-stretch rope access applications, Tutus Dynamic is engineered specifically for dynamic load situations where shock absorption in a fall event is the primary performance requirement. The high-twist multi-strand nylon core generates the elongation and energy absorption properties that distinguish a dynamic rope from a static one. On arrest of a fall, the dynamic core distributes the impact force over a longer deceleration distance, reducing peak force on the system and on the person. At 10.5mm, peak impact force is 8.0kN at fall factor 9.5, sustaining a minimum of 7 drops to EN892 test conditions. At 11mm, impact force is 8.4kN at fall factor 9.5, sustaining a minimum of 11 drops. Colourway varies by manufacturing batch as an age identification system: Red/Blue (960) at 10.5mm, Orange/Black (984) at 11mm. Available on 200m reels.

Dynamic Rope vs Static Rope: EN892 and EN1891 Certification and Application
The distinction between dynamic and static rope is a certification distinction as much as a construction one. Static kernmantle ropes certified to EN1891 are designed to minimise elongation under load, which is the correct property for industrial rope access, work positioning and abseil systems where controlled, predictable positioning is the requirement. Dynamic ropes certified to EN892 are designed to elongate under sudden high load, absorbing the energy of a fall over a longer deceleration distance and reducing peak impact force on the system, the anchor and the person. For mountain rescue teams, safety services operating in mountain and upland environments, and fall arrest applications where a dynamic load event is a foreseeable scenario, an EN892 certified dynamic rope is the correct specification. The Tutus Dynamic uses a high-twist multi-strand nylon core to generate the elongation and energy absorption properties required by EN892. At 10.5mm, peak impact force is 8.0kN. At 11mm, it is 8.4kN. Both figures are measured at fall factor 9.5 under EN892 test conditions. The high wear resistance kernmantle cover extends the working life of the rope in the abrasive environments (rock faces, rescue channels, steep terrain) where these applications typically operate. Tutus Dynamic in the English Braids Tutus Range: Choosing Dynamic or Static
Tutus Dynamic is part of the English Braids Tutus height safety rope range, which otherwise consists of EN1891 certified static ropes: the Tutus Static, Tutus Hi Viz, Tutus Firex and Tutus Acid Alert. The correct selection between Tutus Dynamic and the static range depends entirely on the application and the type of loading the rope system is designed to manage. Where the requirement is controlled positioning, consistent working length and low elongation under load, the EN1891 certified static ropes are the appropriate specification. Where the requirement is fall arrest in a mountain or upland environment, or any system where a dynamic load event must be managed with reduced peak impact force, Tutus Dynamic provides EN892 certified performance in the same nylon construction standard as the rest of the range.
