Pippa Hare
After Pips success in the mini transat last year, EB will once again be sponsoring her as she sails to the Azores and back in 2012. Pip was the first lady across the finish line and managed to achieve 15th place overall in the 2011 mini transat.
Pippa Hare is a professional sailor, with a wealth of experience over the past 16 years in the marine industry, clocking up approximately 70,000 miles across the worlds’ oceans, including down to Patagonia, the Pacific, and the Atlantic.

In 2009 Pippa launched her solo ocean racing career with a 7500 mile, non stop single-handed voyage from Uruguay to the UK. This achievement was shortly followed by entry to the OSTAR – single-handed transatlantic race where Pippa gained an impressive 15th place overall. In June 2010, Pippa gained an overall win in her class in the Round Britain and Ireland Race.
With steely determination and high ambition, Pippa is focusing on achieving her goal for 2011; to compete against Europe’s top sailors in the Mini Transat race, sailing from France, to Madeira and then to Brazil, covering 4200 miles over 4 weeks.
English Braids are proud to be sponsoring Pippa and are the official cordage suppliers for Pippa’s 2011 Mini Transat campaign. We started re-roping Pippa’s yacht at the Southampton Boat Show in September 2010. Working closely with Pippa and listening to the feedback about the rope’s performance on board is vital for us to continue developing our products.
