James Peters (helm) and Edward FitzGerald (crew) are in the British Olympic Transitional Squad. Both aged 17, they are working hard on their sailing development, with ambition to win medals at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games in the 49er class. English Braids will be posting updates on their progress in forthcoming events and are keen to support the sailing team in achieving their Olympic ambition.

Palamos Christmas Regatta review
December 2011
Team PetersFitzGerald came 5th overall at the Palamos Christmas Regatta in Spain. Competing against 18 European 49ers, the race was good practice for the 2011 season and their next event, competing in the ISAF Sailing World Cup race in Palma, early April.
Team PetersFitzGerald claim 11th place in silver fleet at Skandia Sail for Gold Regatta 2010

Congratulations to James and Edward on taking 11th place in the 49er class, silver fleet at the Skandia Sail for Gold Regatta. Organised by the Royal Yachting Association, the event took place at Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy from 9th to 14th August 2010. This regatta is the final event in the 2010 ISAF Sailing World Cup (SWC) series - a new world-class annual series for Olympic sailing, open to the sailing classes chosen for the 2012 Olympics.

James Peters and Edward FitzGerald come first in bronze fleet at 49er European Championships

English Braids would like to congratulate James and Edward on leading the bronze fleet to the finish line at the 49er European Championships. Their 49er yacht was kitted out with new English Braids rope which performed extremely well.
Champions and aspiring Olympians were all in attendance at the 5 day event, in Gdynia, Poland, which finished on 10th July.
